Conexión CP is built on the belief that every initiative is an opportunity to sow hope. Although the path is not always easy, we can once again say that the effort was worthwhile: we successfully distributed bags of fresh vegetables and non-perishable food to 59 families, reaching approximately 340 people on October 1st, 2025, right before the Peace Agreement for Gaza was approved and signed in Egypt.
Relocation and Support for Displaced Families
Thanks to the tireless work of the headteacher of Ajyal School and her teaching team, around 78 families, who were forced to flee their homes in May, were relocated and given shelter between Al Mawasi and Khan Younis. With deep insight into the needs of these individuals, the headteacher played a key role in guiding our organisation in the distribution of food.
Solidarity in Motion: The Fundraising Campaign
Lily’s unwavering resilience and heartfelt empathy were key to making this campaign a success. As one of our dedicated volunteers, she organised the fundraising initiative “Fresh Food for Gaza” through a half-marathon held on 28 September in Marbella, Spain.
A Challenging Logistics: Food Distribution
On 30 September, together with our coordinator Haitham, we set out to purchase the products to assemble the food bags. In the green bags, we placed fresh vegetables: molokhia, cucumbers, aubergines, green peppers, and potatoes. In the black bags, non-perishable items: flour, rice, tuna, broad beans, and tomato sauce. Recognition for Those Who Make the Impossible Possible
We wish to highlight the tremendous effort of our volunteers, who worked tirelessly on the ground to ensure that this food reached those who needed it most. Accessing markets and selecting the best possible products is no easy task. Fresh vegetables were extremely expensive, and negotiating prices in the midst of a war situation is a true odyssey.
In the words of the beneficiaries and those involved, the entire camp smelled of molokhia that day. Everyone received the food bags with joy and hope, as they carried much more than just food. The children, curious and happy, eagerly explored their contents.
This gesture allowed them to feel seen, to know they are not alone, and that there are people who care about them and wish to support them. The families’ reactions and the children’s joy reflect the true meaning of this initiative. Seeing the women gathered around the fire, preparing molokhia, is to trust again, to nourish hope in both the young and the old, and to bring light to their days.
