CONEXIÓN CP: BUILDING BRIDGES TO TRANSFORM LIVES

CONEXIÓN CP is a Spanish non-profit organisation founded in 2014 with a clear objective: to build bridges between people and communities through education, cooperation and solidarity.

Mission

Our mission is to promote training, development and social cohesion in contexts of vulnerability, mainly through language learning.

Vision

Our vision is to build a fairer and more connected world, where every person has access to real opportunities to develop and contribute to the community.

Our Work Is Powered by Interns and Volunteers

Our projects would not be possible without the invaluable support of university interns—particularly from Master’s programs in Spanish as a Foreign Language and other related fields—and a dedicated team of volunteers. Thanks to their commitment and professionalism, we are able to offer free courses in Spanish, English, and Catalan, including classes designed to support integration and settlement.

We maintain active partnerships with several Spanish universities, including Universidad Camilo José Cela (UCJC)Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR)Universidad Nebrija, and Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA). We have also collaborated on occasion with Universidad del Valle in Colombia and Strode College in the United Kingdom.

Our interns and volunteers are the driving force behind our mission. Their involvement is a clear example of how academic cooperation and volunteerism can create real, lasting social impact.

Moreover, through our collaboration with Cibervoluntarios, we had the opportunity to participate in the NADINE Project and benefit from a range of technology-focused trainings. These included sessions on Digital Solutions for Social Support, Cybersecurity, E-commerce, Video Editing, and more. We greatly value the ongoing support Cibervoluntarios has provided to both our team and our students over the years.

Supporting Educational Projects Abroad

Following our initial years, we have actively promoted and supported educational initiatives in various countries, working alongside schools and local organisations. Our key projects include:

  • United Kingdom
Since early 2019, our team has gained valuable insights through our volunteer work with the Refugee Council in the UK. Some of our members have taken part in workshops, English classes, and social gatherings to better understand how we can support refugees in integrating into British society. Today, we are proud to have a growing number of British volunteers who actively support and contribute to our efforts within CCP.
  • Jordan
Since early 2020, we have partnered with Sakeena, a charitable organisation supporting orphans in Jordan. After our first visit, where we spent time with the Sakeena’s team and students, we decided to offer online English classes, transitioning to in-person instruction in 2022. Volunteers from the Middle East, the UK, and the USA travel to Jordan to teach—some for up to six months—providing sustained support, expanding learning opportunities, and empowering orphaned teenagers through education.
  • Senegal
In Senegal, we offer English classes to Talibé teenagers, aiming to reduce their risk of social exclusion. Since 2019, we have also promoted the Sponsor a Student initiative, which covers essential educational costs such as school fees, meals, transportation, school materials, and, in some cases, accommodation.
  • Egypt
In 2024, we launched a project to support Gazan refugee children in Egypt by distributing education kits. These kits include books, stationery, notebooks, toys, and games—resources designed not only to promote academic development but also to support emotional well-being. The project was delivered in partnership with Pyramids of Hope in Cairo and reached hundreds of children.
  • Gaza
In 2021, we launched online English and Spanish courses for students in Gaza. Building on this initiative, in early 2022 we began supporting UFA staff and students by offering English language courses, assisting with the recruitment and selection of English teachers for a children’s Summer Camp, and delivering a training programme for several of their educators. In 2025, we launched a joint initiative withAjyal School to support the education and well-being of children displaced by conflict in the region. The project involves setting up temporary classrooms and providing formal education, recreational activities, and psychosocial support. Our contribution included furnishing the classrooms and supplying educational kits for 250 children aged 6 to 18 in the southern Gaza Strip.
  • Mexico
In spring 2025, we began a collaboration with theUnited States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) to promote conversational Spanish learning among refugees from the Habesha Project in Mexico. This initiative aims to improve language skills and foster social integration.

Help Deliver Humanitarian Aid

Humanitarian Response in Emergency Situations

While humanitarian relief is not our core mission, Conexión CP takes action when urgent needs arise—especially when our own students are affected. In times of crisis, we mobilize quickly to provide direct support. Our recent interventions include:

  • Poland
In March 2022, we sent a representative to assess the situation of Ukrainian refugees firsthand and to better coordinate Conexión CP’s response. Our representative participated in meal distribution efforts in collaboration withWorld Central Kitchen and Caritas, and we provided financial support to several partner NGOs on the ground.
  • Turkey
After the devastating earthquake in February 2023, we organized a humanitarian mission to deliver direct aid to affected communities. The project involved distributing food, blankets, clothing, household appliances, and shoes to refugee camps. In addition, we donated mobile phones to young people so they could continue their English classes with us remotely.
  • Senegal
Since 2020, we have supported Abdou —among other young people in highly vulnerable situations—by covering his essential needs. This included providing a bicycle for transportation, a mobile phone, an identity card, and monthly tuition fees for a French school in Senegal. This personalized support allowed him to rebuild his life with dignity and hope. Thanks to his dedication and a scholarship, Abdou is now studying at a university in France. We continue to assist him with additional expenses. His journey reminds us that even small acts of support can transform lives and restore hope to those who need it most.
  • Gaza
In partnership with theUnlimited Friend Association for Social Development (UFA), we launched an initiative to distribute food to families affected by the ongoing conflict in 2024. We are also providing support to the Ajyal School team following their evacuation this Spring 2025. In addition, we are exploring ways to assist local farmers in sustaining their crops, ensuring access to fresh food for the community. These efforts aim to offer both relief and a sense of hope amid this severe humanitarian crisis.
