Teaching in Spain

Conexión C.P. is a charitable organisation created as a response to the ongoing forced migration crisis. People who have been forced to flee war torn countries, or leave their homelands because of persecution and violence, have undergone traumatic experiences to get to countries where they hope to be accepted and feel safe. Conexión runs programmes in several countries, and also provides online courses primarily in English and Spanish, and we have been teaching refugees and migrants in Spain for some time, including their children. Having become established in Madrid and Barcelona where we began working in 2014, we are now expanding our reach southwards where we hope to help many more refugees improve their language skills and learn other subjects. Up to now we have been concentrating on teaching Spanish and Catalan, with mathematics, history and the arts also, and we are now running courses in Spanish and Catalan that result in the issue of a mandatory report into their social integration. This is important in obtaining a temporary residence authorisation. We offer online courses in Spanish and Catalan – as well as English – for migrants and refugees in vulnerable positions. If you are such an migrant or refugee, we ask that you contact us at info@conexioncp.org and one of the team will get back to you at the earliest opportunity to see how we can help. Meanwhile, to continue our valuable work in Spain and in other countries, Conexión needs volunteers. We need people who can teach Spanish, Catalan and English both onsite and online. You don’t have to be a qualified or experienced teacher, as we will provide the methodology and the basic guidelines. We want people who can help refugees improve their essential skills and build bridges with the local community so they can settle, integrate and lead a comfortable life. If you think this is you, please get in touch and we’ll have a chat about this great opportunity.
