At Conexión Creando Puentes, we remain fully committed to supporting families affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. For months, we have worked tirelessly to provide concrete assistance. Thanks to the generosity of many, we are pleased to announce that the emergency kits mentioned in our previous update are being prepared and will soon reach their destination. However, our work is far from over, as the needs continue to grow, and new challenges arise every day.
Your support remains vital, and we are calling on everyone who is willing to help. While we have made significant progress, many families still need assistance. Any contribution, no matter how small, can have a meaningful impact on their lives.
NEW EMERGENCY: psychological support for refugee families in Egypt
One of the most urgent challenges we’ve identified is the critical need for psychological and social support. In times of crisis and conflict, mental health is profoundly impacted, particularly for the most vulnerable—mothers and children. These families face daily struggles with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and fear, making it crucial for them to receive proper care to help them cope with and recover from these painful experiences.
To address this, we are reaching out to psychologists, sociologists, and mental health professionals to collaborate with us in supporting these families. Your expertise can play a pivotal role in helping mothers process the trauma they’ve endured. Through therapeutic sessions, we aim to provide a safe space where they can freely express themselves and start healing emotional wounds.
Many of these individuals have been through so much that they’ve forgotten how to carry out basic daily tasks, such as cooking, or feel so lost that they don’t know how to move forward. They need guidance and support to regain control of their lives, and your contribution can make a significant difference.
Additionally, we are committed to organizing psychological activities for the children, designed to help them process and overcome the effects of trauma through play and recreational activities. It is vital that these children, who have faced such difficult circumstances at a young age, regain a sense of normalcy and experience moments of joy and learning in a safe and supportive environment.
Education: language classes for refugee children in Egypt
Alongside psychological support, we have also identified a significant need for education among Gazan children currently taking refuge in Egypt. Education is essential for these children to rebuild their futures, and many are now requesting additional language classes, particularly in Spanish and English. A major step toward restoring their daily lives has been their return to school, a project initiated by a Palestinian woman with the support of 75 volunteers, but they now need further academic assistance to help them progress.
We are seeking volunteers to teach Spanish, and especially English, online. Whether you have teaching experience or simply the skills and desire to help, we encourage you to join this cause. By doing so, you will not only be helping these children develop crucial language skills but also contributing to their emotional well-being, as education provides them with structure and a sense of purpose in uncertain times.
How can you help?
If you are a psychologist, sociologist, teacher, or volunteer with experience in conflict situations—or if you simply have the desire to contribute to this humanitarian project—we need your help. We are working to assemble a dedicated and compassionate team to provide the emotional and educational support these families urgently require.
No matter where you are, your support can make a real difference in their lives. Our structured system allows volunteers from around the world to participate, whether through offering psychological support or teaching online classes. This is a critical time when every action counts. Together, we can continue to build bridges of hope and solidarity towards a better future for refugee families.
